In this series I start from my memories of significant places in my life (“sites”), that for different reasons helped me gain a profound and intuitive understanding of experiences (“insights”) to create a play between aerial and standing perspectives, in open-ended colorful forms that provide hints of landscapes. My intention is to invite viewers to finish the image in their minds by using their own recollection of places and landscape paintings) they had experienced before. This process of using past recollections to give meaning to visual marks, even for a brief moment, might help viewers to experience a connection between spaces conventionally called “within” and “without”. Some viewers may not be aware of this connection, but it might also help to lay the grounds for a “site” to become a psychological moment of “insight”. There is more to a landscape than our eyes can see!
