Printed copies available. 'Moving Memories'is a series in which I address the experience of repeating memories with different levels of temporality. Here I am working with digital images to convey the notion of transforming the phisical obejct into pure representation. I am exploring the process of deconstructing and reconstructing snapshots of my own work in order to express the interaction between repetition and reorganization through memory. My intention was to mimic the psychological process of assigning a new significance to past memories that , under certain circunstances, become transformed, possibly generating new ones. Thus, I deconstructed my phisical paintings by photographing certain parts of them, to break the unicity of the original work,  conveying the idea that what we take from past experiences might be a selected mosaic of bits and pieces, interconnected by a subjective interplay between affection and imago. Afterwards, I  recreated these images on the computer as a metaphor for transforming past memories within our minds. It was important to me to give visibility to those reconstructed elements by printing them as if they were conventional photographs, coming full-circle with the process that started as digital photograph. Photography gives us the illusion of retaining something that is actually only in our minds. This is very much related to memory as an act of capturing an object in a moment of time that is no longer there. As an artist and psychologist my intention here was to trigger an awareness of those moving memories in the mind of the viewer, at which point this whole process ends and restarts.
