Solo Show of artist Silvana L. Ravena opening on Thursday June 30th, with a Meet the Artist Event. In exhibit is her new Interdimensional Series. Silvana detailed her process during a DEMONSTRATION throughout the evening. Guests had a chance to participate in a RAFFLE to win her demo painting and the proceeds went to the Mentor- Protégée Program at THE WARM (www.thewarm.org), which is a nonprofit that helps emerging women artists to start and/or to improve their art careers. This was the first organization that helped Silvana merge into the local art scene when she arrived from Brazil 10 years ago. A former practicing clinical psychologist, Silvana infuses her work with psychological concepts and ideas. Memory, the passage of time, and connection to the inner-self are concepts within her work that she hopes stimulates viewers on a deeper level. Her work brings viewers in with their bright multiplicity of colors and layers.
