Oil on canvas. My homage to one of the most beautiful and controversial cities of my home country, Brasil. InSite is a series in which I ply with the words "insight" (the capacity to gain an accurate and deep intuitive understanding of a person or thing) and the term "on site", as a way to reflect on culturally opposed ideas of space within and without us. Here I gave means of 'figurability' and embodiment to events I experienced while visiting certain places. For different reasons, they inspired me to think about a broad dictionary definition for the word "site": the place where something (such as a building) is, was, or will be located;a place where something important has happened;a place that is used for a particular activity.
