« Noites na Floresta » é uma homenagem poética `as nossas florestas que têm sido duramente ameaçadas nos últimos tempos. Essa série é formada por um conjunto de pinturas e fotografias onde faço um reflexão sobre o que há mais além do papel coadjuvante que damos `as nossas matas. Me interessou trazer `a cena principal a força e a inteligencia multifacetada do mundo vegetal, juntando minha poética `a voz daqueles que tem procurado ampliar a consciência sobre importância da floresta, de seus povos e de sua biodiversidade como patrimônio bio-social, cultural e histórico. “Nights in the Forest” is my lyrical homage to the plant kingdom and, in special, to the Brazilian Rain Forests, which have been terribly in danger during these last years. In this series of paintings and photographies , I reflect upon what is beyond the seconday role we usually give to our plants and forests. I intended to bring to the center of out thought, the strenght and multi-leveled intelligence of the plant kingdom, adding my artistic voice to the ones who have tried to grow awareness about the significance of our forests, theis people and rich biodiversity as a bio-social, cultural and historic heritage. Nas pinturas e fotografias da série « Noites » coloco uma lente aumentada em recortes de uma floresta simbólica para trazê-los ao centro do olhar. A floresta aqui é a protagonista que, em seu mistério, sua complexidade e seu silêncio, pulsa no espaço-tempo da arte, nos interrogando sobre quando finalmente agiremos como seres conscientes da necessidade de sua preservação. A meu ver, nutrir no nosso imaginário o devido respeito pela dignidade de todas as fontes e formas de vida, é a esperança de todo artista que, como eu, se insere no segmento que ainda acredita ser possível devolver a humanidade para o humano. In the paintings and photographs of this series, I put a close lens onto small details of a symbolic forest in order to bring them to the center of human gaze. Here the forest, with its mystery, complexity and silence, has the leading role of the image, asking us when we will finally act as people who are aware of its significance and need of preservation. From my perspective, to nurish our imaginay with the due respect for the dignity of all life sources and forms, is the hope of all artists who, as myself, chooses to be part of a segmente that believes to still be possible to give back the human quality to humanity.
